Enemies/Beneath
In Beneath, human cultists are not the only Enemies the player can brutalize. These monsters come in all shapes and sizes, from scrawny mages and bulky sorcerers to dead-reviving wizards and Lovecraftian monsters.
Here is a list of all the different enemies found in Beneath.
Enemies
Beneath features a variety of monsters for players to face in each area of the depths. While a few of them are fairly weak, many can mean trouble for any UHDF recruit. Killing enemies rewards players with varying quantities of Gold, the main currency used to buy weapons, temporary upgrades and enchantments from shops. All enemies also drop a separate currency in the form of purple gems known as Energy, which is used to purchase permanent upgrades in shops. Killing enemies also allows the player to use Powers and Abilities, though getting damaged by a monster will drain the player’s power by a small amount per hit.
Shard Lords
The Shard Lords are the mini-bosses of Beneath. One or two of them can be found in nearly every level and are the only enemies in Beneath to drop Shards, a currency used to upgrade Classes or purchase other permanent upgrades. Each Shard Lord is a stronger variant of the regular enemies listed above.
Elder Gods
The Elder Gods are the bosses and main antagonists of Beneath. They are among the strongest foes in Beneath and may require grinding for upgrades as a result. As the beings responsible for threatening the world, beating all of them ultimately completes the game mode.

Beneath is a game mode for Paint The Town Red. It is completely different to any other game mode in the game, acting as more of a rogue-like. It was released on November 26 (27 in Australia, where South East games are set), 2019 in update 0.9.0 as the main feature.

Story
The story is slowly revealed as the player defeats more bosses. The rank and access level starts out as «Ensign» and «Limited», respectfully, but will increase whenever the player defeats an Elder God. At the rank of «Captain», the Access Level is 1, allowing the player to access the Level 1 quarters and the Investigation Room. At the rank of «Major», the Access Level is 2, allowing the player to access the Level 2 quarters, the VR Training room, and the VR Scenario room. At the rank of «Colonel», the Access Level is 3, allowing the player to access the General’s board room.

Gameplay
Classes
Unlike the Scenarios or the Arena mode, Beneath has 5 different classes (one which is unlocked after defeating the first Elder God), which allow the player to choose a playstyle of their own with different stats for each class. They also have their own powers and abilities, with the 3 normally in-game (Shockwave, Berserk, and Smite), all belonging to the Brawler class except for Smite. Beneath has 7 areas, which have varying amounts of levels. Every area (except the Facility, which has an elevator leading down to Beneath, and Fire and Blood, where the game ends) has a bridge leading to the next.

Enemies
Many enemies are introduced to Beneath. These enemies are much stronger then enemies in the scenarios, as most of them are not humans, but beasts. For information on all enemies in Beneath, see: Enemies/Beneath

Shard Lords
The Shard Lords are regular enemies who came to find the Shards Of A Fallen God, which has caused them to become incredibly powerful. After rescuing the Apostate, a status message saying «The Shard Lords are enraged. » will appear, indicating the Shard Lords will now spawn. They are essentially just stronger versions of normal enemies (with the exception of the Centurion, which does not appear to be a harder version of any enemy in Beneath, but rather a human guard from the Arena Mode). The Elder Gods
The Elder Gods are the main antagonists of the game, acting as the leaders of the horrors beneath. They are unique in that they are in the format of a normal game boss fight, with health bars and several different abilities given to them, complete with a title card. Killing the Elder Gods are key to progress and have their own unique symbols. Killing the first three also gives access to different areas, and killing the final Elder God will end the game mode.

Unique Enemies
Some enemies are similar to other enemies but more unique. The following enemies are:
The Pursuer: A large, skeleton-ghost-like floating figure, cloaked and holding it’s own heart. It will float towards the player, and as a non-corporeal being, it can go through solids objects, flying towards the player until it kills them or the player leaves the area. Uniquely, it will kill any regular enemy it comes in contact with it, although it cannot kill Shard Lords and will not appear during an Elder God fight. It is invincible except for the final area, Fire and Blood, where weapons can be found that will kill the Pursuer in one hit, due to the fact that there are multiple Pursuers in said area. Its main function is to force players to run, as it will appear on some levels, indicated by a status message.

Golden Boxer: Essentially a stronger version of the boxer that can rarely spawn in Beneath, and its main function is to be killed to produce lots of gold. It will only spawn after the «Golden Gloves» upgrade is bought from the shop for 150 energy.

Gremlin: Little creatures that drop large amounts of gold and energy. They run away from the player instead of attacking them, and after running for some while will run through a portal, similar to the one summoned by the Giant Mages.

Challenge Rooms
The challenge rooms are unique rooms that block off the player when they enter, giving them a challenge. These challenges include killing all enemies in a time limit, surviving in a time limit without running, or killing everything without taking damage. After completing the challenge, the player is set free, and a Challenge Chest is open, giving them copious amounts of gold and energy, as well as several powerful weapons.
The shop is one of the most important areas in the game mode, allowing the player access to otherwise hard to find mechanics. It also acts as a safe room, where several creatures from the Beneath help the player in their journey. The shop is protected by a minion holding a force field together.
The shop has several placements that can be bought to give the player health, attack energy, and boosts. The energy seller (another minion) who buys energy to give permanent upgrades. These upgrades do not need to be bought by a certain amount of energy at once but can be donated energy in order to compile energy to buy an upgrade.
A Giant Mage acts as the shopkeeper and has a table with four random items and one random one-time upgrade that can be bought. An enchanting station can be used to enchant shields and weapons. There is a guiding light station that, when bought, will give the player a permanent guiding light for that level. Finally, a pursuer summoning station can be used for free which will summon the Pursuer.

Paint the Town Red is a chaotic first-person melee combat game set in different locations and time periods. The voxel-based enemies can be punched, bashed, kicked, stabbed and sliced completely dynamically using almost anything that isn’t nailed down.
Most naming in this Wiki is created by fans, excluding obvious items, weapons, objects, and certain bosses.

Classes
Classes are a small number of different playstyles that players can use in the Beneath game mode.
Each of the classes have their own unique Abilities and stats which include:
-base weapon durability
Along with 3 normal powers, the player will have access to a counterpart to the standard scenario brawler’s kick attack for each class (used pressing Q by default). Like the brawler’s KO kick, they are affected by a stamina bar, which is used for sprinting as well.

The Warlock is a magic user and a ranged offensive class. Its upgraded version is known as The Sorcerer.
The Warlock’s «kick» ability («Q» by default) is known as Fireball, in that it can shoot a fireball that knocks enemies down and lights them on fire. The fireball consumes your stamina and can be used three times from max stamina. The fireball also requires a free hand, which causes you to drop anything you have equipped in the shield slot.
The Warlock’s first power is the Seeker. It fires 3 projectiles with homing capabilities. When the class is upgraded it becomes Seeker+ and instead of firing 3 projectiles it fires 5.
The Warlock’s second power is Fire Bomb. It is a more powerful version of the fireball. When hitting an enemy or the environment, it explodes and burns enemies around it.
The Warlock’s third power is Chaos. Chaos turns your screen grey and causes enemies to fight each other until the end of the attack duration.

The Spectre is by default the fastest of all the classes and is capable of dodging most attacks with ease due to its speed and dash ability. Its upgraded variant is known as The Wraith.
The Spectre’s «kick» ability («Q» by default) is known as Dash, in which the player will swiftly lunge in the direction they are facing. This deals damage and knockback if an enemy is hit by it. The ability is useful on the Islands as it can be used to skip over islands and allows the player to recover if they fall off the edge.
The Spectre’s first power is Speed which makes the player faster and increases their attack speed for a short while.
The Spectre’s second power is Enchant Weapon. This ability enchants the weapon and shield currently being held without having to buy it at the shop. The Wraith can use Enchant+, which enchants not only the currently held weapons but also the weapon that is not being used.
The Spectre’s third power is Teleport. This makes the player teleport a few meters forward in any direction. When the player finishes teleporting, the trail they leave behind explodes and kills any enemy in the path.

The Brawler is the tank of all the classes. It has the highest health, deals the most damage, and has the longest weapon durability. To make up for this, the Brawler is slow. Its upgraded variant is known as The Mauler.
The Brawler’s «kick» ability («Q» by default) is known as the KO Kick. Identical to its counterpart from the scenarios, it is capable of stunning and knocking enemies down. When upgraded and using the Brawler’s Stone Skin ability, it has a chance to instantly kill low health enemies (such as Zombies).
The Brawler’s first power is the Shockwave. It knocks most enemies away, while heavier enemies (e.g. Crystal Crabs and Golems etc.) only get pushed back.
The Brawler’s second power is Stone Skin. Stone skin turns the player into a walking stone terminator. It nullifies damage and increases attack strength (only if fighting without a weapon). Landing a successful punch, or getting hit depletes the ‘Stone Bar’, a grey version of the Power bar. Punches usually deplete 2-3 fragments every hit, while incoming damage depletes it depending on how severe it is (e.g. getting hit by a zombie depletes 4 segments while an Acolyte with a bladed weapon depletes 5-7 segments).
The Brawler’s third power is Berserk. Just like the one in the scenarios, it instantly kills most enemies, but more resistant ones survive.

The Vanguard’s «kick» ability («Q» by default) is known as the Weapon Upgrade. It is a weaker version of the Spectre’s Weapon Enchant power. Because of this, The Weapon Enchant has a time limit and cooldown. It also does not affect stamina.
The Vanguard’s first power is Light Blast. The player shoots a horizontal blade of yellow light in front of them. It functions similarly to Shockwave as those hit by it are flung away, while those further away are pushed.
The Vanguard’s second power is Regeneration Circle. It heals players within a red circle (centered on the creator) for a handful of seconds.
The Vanguard’s third power is Smite. The player will pull up their hand in the shape of a finger gun, where they can then call in orbital strikes on enemies from any range. It usually instant kills most enemies.

The Corrupted Class is the only unlockable class. You can unlock it after defeating The Necromancer. Specializing in support abilities, it has a decent mix between offense and defense. Its upgraded version is known as The Necromancer.
The Corrupted’s «kick» ability («Q» by default) is Drain. This allows the player to shoot a small dark magic bolt, gaining health while doing small damage to the enemy targeted. Drain uses up no stamina but takes a minute or two to recharge. If it kills the enemy it hits, it will chain to to other nearby enemies.
The Corrupted’s first power is Acid Rain. This creates a large cloud above the player. This cloud then begins dripping green droplets, damaging the enemies below. This power does significant damage to larger enemies due to them covering up a larger area.
The Corrupted’s second power is Entangle. This causes spikes to come up and impale most enemies (except for shard lords and all elder gods except The End). This will stun and prevent the enemies from moving for a short while.
The Corrupted’s third power is known as Raise Dead. Like The Necromancer, Raise Dead revives certain enemies and befriends them. You are unable to revive shard lords and enemies that are dead for more than 30 in-game seconds (this is because some computers have slower gameplay than others) or enemies that died to nonplayer causes.

Hello, it’s my first map, but I really enjoyed making it, I hope it’s not «too bad», I tried to do it as good as I could with everything that I have learned in the level editor today.
