Mechanics
Mechanics unlocks Workshop 3. Allows the crafting of homemade crossbows, toolboxes, and box mines. It provides the following bonuses:
Mechanics and it’s specializations can be improved at Workshops with the appropriate Facility Actions, or by using Mechanics Textbooks. Automechanics can also be improved at the Auto Shop. Engineering can also be improved at the Armory.

Specializations
When your survivor reaches level 7 with their Mechanics skill, you can specialize it in one of it’s two specializations: Automechanics or Engineering. Both specializations are available for each survivor. Your choice is permanent so choose wisely.
Automechanics
Automechanics unlocks Auto Shop. Allows crafting of vehicle upgrade kits (at Auto Shop) and advanced toolkits (at Workshop 3). It provides the following bonuses:
Engineering
Engineering allows crafting of homemade scoped crossbows and advanced muzzle attachments. It provides the following bonuses:
Survivors with Engineering can also provide your community with a Pile of Weapon Remains occasionally.

Special Versions
There’s also two special versions of Mechanics in the Heartland DLC. The first one is Bomb-Making which is only available for Keesha. The second one is Car Chopping which is only available for Larisse.
Bomb-Making
Bomb-Making unlocks Demolitions Lab facility upgrade, which allows the crafting of explosives and ammunition. It provides the following bonuses:
Bomb-Making can be improved at the Demolitions Lab, with any action that improves Mechanics skills, or by blowing things up.
Car Chopping
Car Chopping unlocks Vehicle Depot facility upgrade, which offers vehicle upgrades and advanced vehicle repair toolkits. It provides the following bonuses:
Car Chopping can be improved at the Vehicle Depot, or with any action that improves Mechanics skills.

State of decay 2 навыки вождение
Each survivor has a set of skills, composed of the four core skills (Cardio, Wits, Fighting and Shooting)

Wits improves the survivors’ search speed when looting containers and leads to advanced mental skills.

Community Skills are fifth skills primarily for the benefit of the community. Each of them provides the knowledge of a profession which are required for building and upgrading certain Facilities and using certain Facility Actions within your Homesite. These skills are granted by certain Traits or can be learned with appropriate Textbooks. They can be leveled up by using appropriate Facility Actions or by using the same Textbooks you can use for learning them.

Skills
Each survivor has a set of skills, composed of the four core skills (Cardio, Wits, Fighting and Shooting) and a fifth optional skill (Community or Quirk Skill). The core skills affect the survivors’ stats and survival abilities out in the open world, while the skills in the fifth slot may benefit only the survivor, the whole community or both. Since these fifth skills are granted by certain Traits upon a survivor’s generation, it can happen that a survivor will not have a skill in the fifth slot, however by obtaining Textbooks you can teach these survivors to get a fifth skill of your choice (requires the appropriate textbook).
The core skills and community skills can be leveled up by performing respective actions with your survivors or within the community (unless they’re limited by a trait). Upon reaching level 7 with a skill you will get the opportunity to specialize it, replacing it with an advanced skill.
Core Skills
Each of the four Core Skills can be specialized into one of four different specializations. When your survivor reaches level 7 with a skill, you will be able to choose from anywhere between one and four of these options depending on the survivor’s Traits. Choose your specializations wisely, since you can only change them if you acquire a Training Manual (which is hard to come by).
There are also Special versions of each Core Skill that are only available for DLC characters. Skills with the (DB) tag are only available for Red Talon Contractors, while skills with the (HL) tag are only available for certain characters in the Heartland DLC.
