10 Things You Didn’t Know About The Great Warrior Wall
As The Great Warrior Wall is not a very well-known series, there are quite a few things that are still under wraps.
The Great Warrior Wall is a relatively lesser-known animation that follows the life of Seya Wolf on his quest to become a hero. On his way, he encounters friends that accompany him on his journey, and foes who force him into battles.
The show is an animation based in Taiwan and was originally made for kids. The quality with which the show is made is incredible and it manages to attract even slightly older kids as well as adults. As it is not a very well-known series, there are quite a few things that are still under wraps.
10 The Show Belongs To The Wuxia Genre
The Wuxia genre comprises stories of heroes specializing in martial arts and their adventures in China. The Great Warrior Wall depicts scenes where the characters are trained in martial arts.
They use these skills to defeat enemies and achieve their goals. The storyline takes place in China and has multiple action scenes where the characters use ancient martial arts moves. This easily puts the show in the Wuxia category.
9 The Screenwriter Added A Lot Of References To His Past Work
Fans were able to point out many references that were made to another well-known animation show, Star Tour (some fans may even call it «Star Travel» due to the translation errors from Mandarin to English).
The reason for this is because the screenwriter for both shows is the same person (Liu Bei), and he incorporated some references to Star Travel, a show which he worked on in 2011. The same person also wrote and directed another animation series called The Most Amazing, Yo Stars in 2015, however, Yo Stars is also just as hard to find as The Great Warrior Wall, if not harder.
8 The Great Warrior Wall Has 2 Official Websites
There are not many websites that feature information about The Great Warrior Wall. There are, however, two main websites that have official pages for the show. The official BiliBili channel (bilibili.com) and the official website of the animation company (2-10.cn) contains all details of The Great Warrior Wall.
They give information about the streaming platforms, general details of the plot, and some statistics of the show. The websites are in Mandarin but can be translated into English for better comprehension and they serve as a great source to find all the reviews and necessary information about the show.
7 The Animation Style Is Donghua
The Great Warrior Wall seems to belong to the anime genre. But while the style of animation is similar to that of anime, it is actually known as donghua.
Donghua literally means animation from China and is used to distinguish content created in China from that of other Asian countries. This distinction is not made within China, but it is made in other countries in order to identify the language of a particular animation. The donghua genre also features some famous animations like Da Yu Hai Tang and Fox Spirit Matchmakers.
6 Certain Terms Have Gotten Lost In Translation
Although the name of the series is The Great Warrior Wall, the literal translation of the Chinese title, Ju Bing Chang Cheng Zhuan, is The Great Wall Of Great Soldiers. While translating it into English, a few words were shortened to form the English title of the series.
Besides this, the main character, our hero Seya Wolf is known as Ono when translated from Mandarin. Here the translation works the other way round where the English version is shortened to form the Mandarin term. It is quite interesting to see how terms change as they go through different languages and at times change their meanings completely.
5 2:10 Is Not Only The Animation Company But Is Also The Distribution Company
Generally, a show is animated and distributed by two different firms. This is mainly because the scope of work is so different that companies often invest time in only one field. An animation firm looks over the production aspect of the content series, while distribution firms ensure that the content is accessible to the audience.
2:10 not only animates its works but also handles the distribution licenses and publicity for all the content that it creates. They have worked closely with other production houses to better their services and continue to deliver top-quality content.
4 The Great Warrior Wall Was Created In 3D
The Great Warrior Wall was developed in the 3-dimensional format and was planned to be consumed as such. However, due to inaccessibility, most of the viewers have watched it in 2D.
This change in no way affects the quality of the series but many viewers agree that they would have enjoyed it more had they been able to view it in 3D. The scenes are so captivating on their own but their effects would have been amplified in 3D and engaged the viewers better.
3 The Producers Ran Out Of Budget
While planning for the show, the producers did not estimate the budget accurately. As a result, they ran out of funding much sooner than anticipated.
This led the creators to cut some corners in order to be able to finish the show. The company had to prioritize what mattered most and made some tough decisions regarding what to cut out to save money. Some fans believe that this is the reason why the run-time, as well as the episode-time of the series, have been shortened.
2 The Artists Behind The Great Warrior Wall
The screenplay for The Great Warrior Wall was by Liu Bei while the series was produced by Shi Haowen. This show was beautifully directed by Gao Yuan Yan Jixiang.
The cast included well-known actors like Su Shangqing and Zhu Rongrong who brought the characters to life. The tireless efforts of these artists are seen in the show and they make it all the greater. The cast supported each other immensely and their teamwork can be seen by any fan who watches the series.
1 The Main Character Is A Pre-Teen
The show follows the story of Seya Wolf and leads viewers into his journey of becoming a hero. Since the show is predominantly made for kids, the main character is shown to be 12 years old. The other characters in the show are also 12 or of similar age as Seya Wolf.
This allows the kids to relate better to the content being shown and also allows the show to have a better reach.
