На что я не обращала внимания ранее, так это на студию. Приятно видеть ее в деле. А так, сей фильм входит в цикл лэйбла Blue Lynx, который полностью посвящен жанру романтических отношений между мужчинами.
Фильм длится всего 60 минут. Сможет ли экранизация дать истории в основе заиграть новыми красками?
Есть тут и неплохие моменты, в отдельных сценах, благодаря постановке, поэтому, с другой стороны, для кого-то, например, для поклонников жанра, у которых редко такой праздник хоть чего-то, это может быть вполне приятным времяпровождением.
Суть сего фильма как состояния природы в нем: чаруют зрителя красотой, но так и не скажут ничего своим явлением.
Достойно к рекомендации только при наличии интереса к жанру, и/или к окружению, художественному наполнению, чем к персонажам и их истории влюбленности, а потом и любви, с ее первозглядом, треугольниками, выходом из шкафа, и прочими атрибутами внутри рамок шаблона романтического формата. Ведь среди представителей жанра есть пусть менее откровенные, но более благодатные работы.
Снова для меня же, пока, это было единственное хоть как-то потенциально интересное произведение в цикле Blue Lynx, ибо остальное явно не моем вкусе, ни за какие коврижки. Надеюсь, что данный цикл даст возможность авторам не только получить опыт и продемонстрировать свое мастерство по художественной части, но и найти необычные, редкие грани жанра, которые освежат просмотр, наполняет его интересной игрой света.
PS Хотелось написать в болталке, но учитывая выше сказанное – ладно, прощаю себе.

Shun Hashimoto (橋本 駿, Hashimoto Shun) is a character in The Stranger by the Beach. He is one of the main characters alongside Mio Chibana.

Shun possesses short and messy light brown hair with bangs. His eyes are a similar mousy shade.
Button-up shirts and flannels covered with a cardigan are his signature outfits. If not this, zippered hoodies and sweaters are also worn under a light jacket or trench coat. Occasionally he dons a pair of glasses when writing his manuscripts and in public to avoid recognition. Because of the effort exerted into his job, he’s repeatedly described as exhausted-looking, but also stated that he’s “Feminine” looking by one of his classmates, which is the reason he became so self conscious in expressing his sexuality.
Personality [ ]
Shun works relentlessly when needed, which might contribute to why he views his life so pessimistically. He’s commonly seen working on his writing up until the deadline, sacrificing rest and failing to properly take care of himself in the process. This is due to procrastination on his part. Shun bottles up his identity to protect himself from the loss of friends. He speaks bluntly and mostly without a filter, but can also be polite and sweet when need be or when he wants to. Despite his reluctant exterior, he becomes flustered quite easily. He’s especially introspective and tends to overanalyze things.
Story [ ]
The Stranger by the Beach. [ ]
Shun lives with his grandmother on an island in Okinawa. Due to his failed arranged marriage with his ex-fiancé Sakurako, he escapes from his family and lives on the island for three years. Shun struggles with internalized homophobia; he experiences flashbacks/dreams of his past where his sexuality is unaccepted by individuals such as his classmate Wada-kun and his parents.
His first appearance is him wondering who Mio Chibana is and why he always sits by the sea. Speaking with him, Shun then eats together with Mio, Shun’s grandmother, with Eri and Suzu. He learns that Mio is heading to an orphanage across the mainland in the morning.
Winning an award for his novel, Shun receives a postcard saying «congratulations» from Mio and then little else over the three years apart. Seeing that Eri has arranged for Mio to return and move in with him, in contrast to Shun’s happiness at being together, Shun considers the lack of contact over the three years and raises that Mio using the phone was not a hard thing to do.
Having liked Mio more then he knows after they sleep together, Shun decides he will also head home to see his family in Hokkaido. With Mio saying he will call now that he has a phone, Shun asks for Mio to come there with him then questions whether he wants to stay holed up on the island as he did.
Stranger in the Spring Breeze [ ]
Shun comforts Mio who was nervous in a crowd
Onboard a plane with Mio, Shun remembers back to his childhood. Whilst he is anxious about traveling to his parents, he also takes Mio’s hand since he is panicking about the crowds. However, he is uncomfortable with his actions. With people commenting on this and Mio reacting, Shun says sorry for doing something Mio doesn’t like.

Mio Chibana [ ]
Taking an interest in him after seeing Mio sitting alone, they both began talking. Three years later, Shun does not match Mio’s enthusiasm to be together since Mio barely contacted him. Whilst they lived together, Shun did not want physical contact until the right time. This is completely put to one side after Sakurako’s arrival and Shun re-affirms his relationship with Mio. Despite Mio saying that he is not good with crowds, Shun notices that he is good with kids.
Shun’s Grandmother [ ]
Living with her, Shun assists with bread deliveries and general tasks to help out.
They live together before Eri moves nearby with Suzu yet still resumes contact with one another as usual.
Sakurako [ ]
Sakurako initially loved Shun a lot that she was arranged to have a marriage with him but when she realizes that Shun doesn’t return her feelings, claiming that he isn’t interested in girls. She eventually gives up on him when Mio tells her he loves Shun.

Eri is seen wearing a V-neck shirt where the sleeves come to her elbows and are darker in coloration than the rest of the garment. She also wears star-shaped earrings.

Stating that Eri is not like an old tree that has already put its roots down, she says that she is still young so she can act a bit carefree.
Story [ ]
Eri arrives back and notices someone made dumplings that she tells Shun Hashimoto not to eat them yet. Explaining that Suzu cannot come today since she has a lot of work to do, Eri then says to Shun that she saw that pretty boy today again.
Three years later, Eri moves to a nearby apartment to live with Suzu. She informs Shun that he will have a new roommate since grandma will need somebody to help out.
Relationships [ ]
Suzu is Eri’s girlfriend. They moved together after three years.

Living with him, Eri questions whether Shun also thinks that Mio Chibana is attractive.
Mio Chibana [ ]
Having noticed him sitting facing the sea, Eri describes him bathed in the sunset’s red glow as looking just like a painting.
