Goetia (under the persona of Solomon) to the protagonist, prophecizing the war of the Lostbelts in the preview trailer of Cosmos in the Lostbelt. |
The Lostbelts (in Japanese: 異聞帯) are supernatural alternate dimensions and the main setting of Fate/Grand Order: Cosmos in the Lostbelt.
The Lostbelts are considered by the world itself to be failed timelines. As opposed to the Greater History of Man, the history of «winners» born from correct choices and and with each proper prosperity leading to the «present», the Lostbelts are histories of «failure» born from the wrong choices or false prosperity for humanity. Such is their nature of failure that they are even cut off from the greater multiverse.
The Lostbelts started to surface and establish themselves on earth itself after the Crypters allied with the Outer Gods and instigated an attack against Chaldea. The Crypters were 7 former A-Team Masters who died in the attack of Lev Flaros, but was revived by someone presumably loyal to the Outer Gods.
Following the attack on Chaldea by the end of 2017, the freezing of the world, and the declaration of rebellion against the Greater History of Man with the threat of a regression into the Age of Gods and the recreation of the world, the survivors are forced to use an experimental method of navigating through imaginary number space to reach the Lostbelts and resolve the incident.
After all of the Lostbelts were established, the Crypters seeked to expand the «domain» of their own Lostbelts, which would eventually clash with the other Lostbelts. A world that is built by a greater Human Foundation will end up overtaking a weaker one and use it as «nutrients». This process will allegedly continue, until only one Lostbelt is remaining. Every Lostbelt has its depth, which means the scale of its deviation from the original history or mythology. Their existences are connected to the Fantasy Trees inside them.

Lists of Lostbelts
Anastastia: Permafrost Empire
The Russian Lostbelt diverged from that of Greater History of Man in 1570 AD when an asteroid struck and plunged the world into an ice age. Most humans died, and while Russians were used to the cold and prepared for such weather, 90% of their population perished and the survivors were on the cusp of extinction. Tsar Ivan IV, also known as Ivan the Terrible, and his mages were able to save the country by combining humans with magical beasts, creating a human-animal hybrid race known as the Yaga, with Ivan himself becoming the first.
Götterdämmerung: Eternal Ice-Flame Century
The Norse Lostbelt diverged from the Greater History of Man in 1000 BC, during the events of Ragnarok. Surtr, who was supposed to bring the Twilight of the Gods, devoured Fenrir, gaining his Authority and becoming immensely powerful. He decided to bring about the Twilight of the World, killing many gods and giants before being sealed within a false Sun by Odin, who died afterward.
However, before dying, Odin merged the goddess Skadi with Scáthach, creating Scáthach-Skadi, the King of the Lostbelt, with the purpose of protecting the humans and ending Ragnarok before it could ever started. As Ragnarok was interrupted as a result, the world became ravaged by fire and ice, unable to continue past Ragnarok for the next thounsands of years.
Scathach-Skadi established multiple villages for humans, with the support of the Valkyrie. However, in order to keep the giants at bay, humans are required to reproduce at the age of fifteen. If they fail to do so, they shall be sacrificed to the giants, but once they reach the age of 25, they are nonetheless offered again to the giants.
Sin: Land of Unified Knowledge
The Chinese Lostbelt had Emperor Qin Shi Huang reached immortality by 210 B.C., the year where the Emperor supposed to perish historically. Now becoming a mystic, Qin Shi Huang became the immortal ruler of the Lostbelt and developed incredible technology, placing every Chinese Heroic Spirit under his control and seizing domain of the world.
However, Qin Shi Huang had no intention to work with Outer Gods and decided to challenge them and fix humanity by himself, making his Lostbelt the one with the lowest depth compared to the others. The citizens of this Lostbelt lived peaceful lives as farmers untouched by war, but they were isolated from the Emperor’s technological wonders.
Genesis Destruction Cycle: Yuga Kshetra
In this world, the gods of the Hindu pantheonnote fused together into one «perfect» deity, later revealed to be the Lostbelt version of Arjuna known as Arjuna Alter. As the Lostbelt King, Arjuna Alter speeds up the Yuga cycle to run it’s course every 10 days in his desire to remove anything that could be considered «evil» from it, each cycle deleting elements from tthe world entirely with no chance of reincarnation. The cycle slowly reshaped the Lostbelt to Arjuna Alter’s view of «utopia,» with plans to extend it across the entire galaxy and then the universe.
The fusion of the predominant Hindu Gods had caused the Lostbelt to become nearly godless, resulting in the Lostbelt version of Kama, who managed to escape, to create a Singularity named Tokugawa Labyrinth. He later transformed into Beast III-L after being taken over by her inner evil, Mara, who became dominant since there were no god to oversee her.
Kirschtaria Wodime’s Lostbelt
Kirschtaria’s Lostbelt, also known as the Atlantic Lostbelt and the Greek Lostbelt, has the largest scale of all seven Lostbelts and 80% of its surface is covered by Fantasy tree roots. It diverged from proper history in 12,000 BC, taking place around the same time of Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star, where Velber arrived in the Solar System and ordered Sefar to slaughter the original God Concepts, the Twelve Pillars, beginning the decline of the Age of Gods. However, this world’s Gods triumphed over Sefar and continue to reign supreme over humans to this day.
Kirschtaria has three Divine Spirit Servants under his command, including Caenis, who are supposedly some of the most powerful servants summoned by the Crypters. Kirschtaria is on good term with Zeus, the Lostbelt King of the Olympian Gods.
Atlantis: Ocean in the Age of Titans
The first part of Greek Lostbelt is in the form of a giant ocean city where the Age of Gods is described to have proceeded into the present, the gods in question being the ancient Greek Gods. In this Lostbelt, it was implied that Poseidon perished and new forces began to rise in order to take his place.
Olympus: Interstellar City Mountains
The Lostbelt version of Mount Olympus is the real center of the Greek Lostbelt, where the Olympian Gods and where the fifth Fantasy Tree resides. In this version of Mount Olympus, the Olympians managed to defeat Sefar and maintained their rule. When Zeus decided to expand the Age of Gods to further their reign, Hephaestus, Hades, Athena, Apollo, Hestia, Ares opposed him and got destroyed in the resulting war. Zeus survived alongside Artemis, Poseidon (at the time still active), Demeter, Aphrodite and Hera, and continued to rule the world. They advanced their powers and technology to the point where they redefined the concepts of Gods and fully became machines, with powerful divine nanomachines being used as Authorities.
Its Fantasy Tree, named Atlas, is a completely matured Fantasy Tree resides within the Greek Lostbelt. However, it is revealed that Kirschtaria hides his final Divine Spirit Servant, the Titan Atlas, within the aptly named tree for failsafe. By the end of the Olympus chapter, the Alien God brings the Fantasy Tree out of the Greek Lostbelt for unknown purposes, subsquently dooming the Greek Lostbelt for good.
Fairy Round Table Domain: Avalon Le Fay
The sixth Lostbelt, where Beryl resides, is a world centered around the Arthurian Britain, which diverged during 500 AD within the «Round Table Territory». The inner workings of his Lostbelt are still a secret to all. According to Kirschtaria, the British Lostbelt is something that by nature simply doesn’t «fit» the planet, and so it’s Difference Depth cannot be measured, hence the EX rank. It apparently contains something capable of threatening the Alien God.
By the time when Chaledea crew is heading towards the Atlantic Lostbelt, however, Beryl already manipulated this Lostbelt’s Round Table Knights to chop down its Fantasy Tree and fled, leaving this Lostbelt crumbling. However, for some reason, the British Lostbelt still seems to exist, with its edge still visible, even though by no doubt it is falling down slowly.
According to Beryl, a «little princess» is also in charge of operating this Lostbelt. Somehow, she is not bothered with Beryl’s true identity as an espionage, only flirting with him and trying to have fun with him. Her troubling behavior made even Beryl himself, a sociopathic killer, so afraid that he scramed himself out of the Lostbelt.
The British Lostbelt was a place without a trace of human, and a chance to summon a human Heroic Spirit was dim (though the Proper Human History version of Tristan was successfully summoned unwittingly because of his bond with his motherland, even in an alternate reality). The place was occupied by mythical beings, mostly fairies, and was divided into six different clans. With the absence of King Arthur/Altria, Morgan le Fay, who now only went on with the name Morgan, served as this Lostbelt’s ruler and set up her own version of Round Table Knights composed by female fairies in folk legends.
As of now, the British Lostbelt’s crumbling state was so much intense that if nobody set out to do something in 24 hours, the entire Earth will be blow up. Fortunately, the time flowed slower in the Lostbelt and gave Chaldea crew enough time to set things right.

Currently, the six known Kings are:
The Lightning Tzar. Ivan the Terrible was ruler of Russia for most of the 16th century in Proper Human History. After being crowned, he declared himself the first «Tsar of all Russias» and imposed autocratic rule upon Russia. His conquest transformed Russia into an empire, at extreme cost to its people and long-term economy. Ivan was popular amongst commoners, and considered a skilled diplomat and patron of the arts. However, he was notably paranoid and cruel towards the Russian nobility, and in later life prone to fits of uncontrollable rage.
This is a different version of Ivan from an alternative forbidden history where a meteor crashing into Earth during the 16th century triggered an Ice Age. Ivan was able to save himself and 10% of Russia’s population by ordering his court magicians to magically transform them into human-beast hybrids known as the «Yaga». He ruled over the frozen wastes of Russia for 450 years as its supreme Tsar, though with the arrival of Kadoc Zemlupus and Anastasia, Ivan would be put into a deep slumber so the Crypters could use the army produced by his Noble Phantasm.

A goddess and Jötunn of skiing, winter, brides and hunting. She is known for having married married the Vanir god of seas Njörðr, before breaking up with him and then marrying Odin, having many more children together. She is also known to have been the one who placed the serpent that drips venom onto the bound god of mischief, Loki.
This is a different version of Skadi from a another forgotten history where the Jötunn King of Muspelheim, Surtr, devoured the wolf Fenrir, which gave the Fire Giant such a power boost that he threatened to expand Ragnarök to the entire world rather than just be contained to Scandinavia. His rampage slayed the Norse Gods, turned the land into a never-ending winter with the flames of Muspelheim, and left the Jötunns to roam the world.
For the sake of her «children,» Skadi, now fused to the god-killing hero of the Ulster Cycle, Scáthach, by Odin, to bring Jötunn and humans together, would create a world where Jötunn would feed on the humans of 25 of age and 15 of girls who don’t produce children, for the sake of her love. Her reality was deemed a dead end by the world and then erased, before being brought back by the Lostbelt. She serves as one of the antagonists of Lostbelt No.2: Götterdämmerung as its King, working together with Crypter Ophelia Phamrsolone. To see tropes pertaining to her, check here
Also known as Shi Huangdi, the first emperor of China. Born as Ying Zheng, the young king ascended to his position of power after a terrible rebellion in the state of Qin. He aspired to conquer the warring states of 3rd century BC China, and at 221 BC successfully unified China. During his rule, he would enact major economic and political reforms. His other works included the Great Wall of China and a massive new national road system, as well as the city-sized mausoleum guarded by the Terracotta Army. He also sought immortality, but all it did was lead to him to insanity and finally death due to mercury poisoning.
This is a different version of Qin Shi from another, forsaken history where the emperor discovered the artificial body of Nezha, allowing him to develop advance tech and uploaded his consciousness into an artificial body of his own creation, finally gaining the immortality he long sought after. From there, he would go forth and conquer the world, with his ever growing empire soon being christened the Eternal Sin Empire. The world he created though, for the sake of peace, restricted freedom, restrained potential, and turned humanity into ignorant, happy animals with short lives and a sense of propose, with the society of the empire remaining at a basic farming level. His world was then pruned by Gaia due to technology stagnation amongst everyone other than Emperor Qin, but is brought back thanks to the Foreign God’s Lostbelts. He serves as one of the antagonists of «Lostbelt No.3: The Synchronized Intellect Nation, SIN».

Third of the Pandava brothers, disciple of the god Krishna, and half-brother of his own arch-nemesis Karna, forced to fight each other by unseen forces. Known as the Rewarded Hero, it’s rumored that Arjuna harbors a darker side, responsible for various dirty tricks the Pandavas pulled in the Mahabharata.
This is a different version of Arjuna from an alternative, pruned history where during the climax of Mahabharata, he descended into madness after being taken over by his darker self, Krishna. From there, he would absorb the entire Lostbelt Hindu pantheon, excluding Kama, and becomes a perfect god, and would oversee the Indian Lostbelt by reseting it every thousand or so years through the Yuga cycles.
By the time Chaldea reaches his world however, he has long since turned the once peaceful world into a living hell, reseting the world every 10 days in a bid to rid the world of all evil. He serves as the main antagonist of «Lostbelt No. 4: Saṃsāra of Genesis and Terminus, Yugakshetra», as its Lostbelt King, and the Greater-Scope Villain behind «Tokugawa’s Restoration Labyrinth: Ooku» event, his fusion and later return to Earth causing the Beast III/L to manifest.
The Greek God of the thunder and the sky. The son of Chronos, he defeated his father and the other Titans and banished them all into Tartarus, and would then go on to lead his brothers, and sisters, and children as most powerful of the Olympians.
In truth, he is in fact an Aletheian called the Space Combat Annihilator-Type Mobile Fortress, the management unit of all other Aletheias created to prepare the Earth for the Titans, but meeting and being worshiped by humanity soon gave them human bodies and egos. Following this, he rebelled against their creators, the Titans, in the Titanomachia, and won, before the invading being called Sefar destroyed their Aletheian bodies during the Leukosmachia, becoming the Divine Spirits called the Olympians.
This is a different version of Zeus from an alternative, pruned history where he and the other Olympians defeated the invading threat known as Sefar during the Leukosmachia, allowing them to keep their Aletheian bodies and improve themselves and the world, creating an utopian civilization where humanity is nigh immortal and Mystic rules over Physics. Their advancement however, soon caused them to reach a dead end and be pruned, only to be brought back by the Foreign God’s Lostbelts. When the twelve gods held a vote whether they should expand the Age of Gods or not, he, along with his Administration Faction of Poseidon, Artemis, Demeter, Aphrodite, and Hera fought in a civil war called the Olympiamachia against the Co-existence Faction of Hephaestus, Hades, Athena, Apollo, Hestia, Ares, critically damaging Hera. He serves as the main antagonist of Lostbelt No.5.2: Olympus, as its Lostbelt King.
Daughter of Queen Igraine and King Uther Pendragon, sister of Altria Pendragon, and a powerful witch. After being passed over the throne despite being Uther’s eldest child and successor, she become obsessed with getting vengeance towards her sibling for doing so. To do so, she manipulated events to give birth to Mordred, who would bring about the end of Camelot.
This is an alternate tale from a disregarded history, where Morgan succeeded her father as ruler of England and thus, never becomes the vile witch that she would be famously known as. Under her rule, the world never leaves the Age of Gods, and humanity would then be replaced as the dominant species by many different races of magic creatures, such as fairies. This would lead the Counter Force to consider her world a dead end, and be pruned, only to be brought back by the Foreign God’s Trees of Emptiness. At least, so it seems at a first glance.
She appears as the Lostbelt King of «Lostbelt No. 6: Fairy Round Table Domain, Avalon le Fae». To see tropes pertaining to her, check here.
